Hey, were you among the many who had a go at New Age Kurling last Saturday, at South Witham’s Gala? What did you think of it? Did you enjoy it? We would love to hear your comments. Remember, your first session is free, so why not come along to our NEW Tuesday Evening session-7.30 – 9pm, or our established Wednesday Afternoon’s-2 -4pm.

We were delighted with the interest shown on Saturday and surprised at how enthusiastic the children were. YOUTH LEADERS-take note. Unfortunately, our club is adults only, but we would be happy to help qualified youth leaders, who are CRB checked, to set up their own club. It would be another interest for the youth of the Village, as well as increase revenue and utilise our community centre more.

Check back next week for an update.

Hello again. Nice to have you back. We have just had our second Tuesday night session and what a success it was. Six new kurlers have joined us to date and it was nice to see so many of our Wednesday afternoon friends attend also. We are already beginning to see who has a mean competitive streak and who is just quietly standing back, taking stock of different kurling techniques-(who am I kidding, technique doesn’t come into it but the fun factor certainly shines through).

Apologies to those players who turned up to last Wednesday’s session, only to be disappointed because the hall was double booked. This was very frustrating for all concerned and unbelievable as the New Age Kurling club have been regular Wednesday afternoon users since the club started last September. We have had assurance it won’t happen again-(watch this space).

I must away now but look forward to next weeks bulletin and possibly reading some of your comments too.

OOPS! I’m late checking in this week-apologies.
It’s all going swimmingly so far. Nine enthusiastic kurlers Tuesday evening, which was remarkable, as we knew we would lose out to the long established monthly meeting of the Ladies Welcome Club.
Wednesday saw our highest numbers to date. Coffee break included listening to a recording of an impromptu interview, on New Age Kurling, with Svenda, (our Secret Weapon-she has been instrumental in the technical and promotional side of our club). The interview was by chance at a social gathering, covered by the Grantham based radio station, Gravity FM. It was a wonderful opportunity to promote the club, grasped and brilliantly executed by Svenda, who got a rapturous round of applause, followed by some leg pulling about being a celebrity now.
There is a real community spirit here, everyone helps and supports each other and thoroughly enjoys the kurling.
It’s been a productive week. What next I ask? You will have to tune in again next week to find out.
How about some feedback from you! Anyone got a different opinion? In the meantime, I will keep my eyes and ears open and get back to you next week.

Do I have a treat for you this week! Back in February, we were asked by Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, to take part in a video to promote and encourage sports for the over 45′s, which is an ongoing project throughout the County. We viewed this as a positive move for the Club and were visited on the day by two members of the Sports Partnership and two members from Channel Lincolnshire, which is an internet only tv channel. We were asked to play our normal game on the day and to ignore the camera which followed the game throughout. There were interviews with Maureen and Tom and a good day was had by all. We were told this would be broadcast in around six weeks.

So now, all YOU have to do is log on to http://www.channellincolnshire.co.uk and you can see what you are missing by not joining in on the fun of New Age Kurling.
    See you next week.
